Because....when the wind blows past my brown skin....it cools me. For a second I can almost feel the same exact sensation that is you. When things are right...they are right....time stands still. Moments go on forever. Raindrops beating....making a symphony in my heart. I love the sound. It reminds me of you. What can happen when two kindred spirits are so far apart yet seem so close? Riddle me that?
Just as two snowflakes are never alike....so are our experiences. We all carry a magic, a blueprint, a story. Do you want to read my pages? Would you like to find out the theme? Can you handle the message? I warn you I may be too much. What is life without a little risk? We all can't be so calculated in all we do. It would turn out to be boring....keep it brand new...fresh. SURPRISE...me. I don't mind a little unpredictability. I can appreciate it. Can you?
What motivates you? Can you articulate your heart's desires? I can. I can materialize anything if I put enough focus...FOCUS....ATTENTION...I've learned that if you want to do anything RIGHT the secret is the unbroken flow of attention that characterizes your peak performance. So...what does that mean? Well if you ever failed at something it's definitely because you were not giving it your UNDIVIDED attention. yup....you split it up with something else....you had your mind every place else but where it was supposed to be. Your focus had a mistress....it wasn't faithful to the mission.
Move on...press on young chocolate. You are a force to be reckoned with. Don't let them tell you nothing less. That is the magic in life...in the trials...in the tribulations...it helps you to grow....it forces you to open your eyes and wake up. It demands you to show up to the occasion and BE what you are destined to be! Be all that you can my love! Keep flying...get what you deserve and NOTHING less...you seen to many settle for less. I know it all to well. God is here next to me....we on this journey ...me and him...he and I. Let the show commence......
Live on PURPOSE!

PULSE...
So I ran across a particular quote 4 times today at different times of the day doing completely different things at different places and I had to believe the universe was speaking directly to me. So I wanted to share:
“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” - Steve Jobs
So I totally get it and I totally understand. Thank you for the message.
On another note I have not written any new entries in some time and mainly because of the me allowing LIFE to distract me from expressing my thoughts in this space. I do not regret not posting any new entries because so much has happened and so many lessons have taken place in my life, but I am happy and full off of them all.
I am entering a new season that I am readily approaching. A season of revitalization, self- appreciation and authenticity with who I am and those around me.
I went to a church service recently with my family and the message the young woman said on the stage was simple, clear and spoke to my spirit. She said all we really need in life is Passion...Persistence and Purpose. I thought about that and I could not find one single thing wrong or invalid about that statement. Passion is what drives us. Persistence is what we need to achieve our successes and purpose is the reason we should get up everyday.
I have learned that it is very revealing to sit in silence. Here is when your thoughts speak the loudest and you can actually hear GOD speak. No sound....just silence. You and your thoughts. No influence from anyone or anything else ...learn to shut out the noise.
i recently lost something that I never really had and it made me realize....Do we ever really have anything? All we have is this moment. Therefore, it is important to safeguard your time and what you allow to enter your thinking.
On that note...I wish for everyone to be confident in their thinking and secure in their being. Anything and everything is your possibility....for you are the master of them and how FANCY FLY we all are!
LOVE.....

RIGHT NOW....
Sitting ...listening...taking in every single particle of what exists in my "right now"...its amazing.
I can see and watch the clouds move across the sky. I can sit and feel my legs and get up if I need to. I can watch nature conduct itself, I can breathe deep breathes and take in the life that exists around me. I am one with my environment...RIGHT NOW.
The now is a magnificent thing. It only exists for a short time and it goes...awaiting and preparing for the next NOW. What are you doing to make sure that your NOW lives up more than the one before it. How do you capitalize off of every single minute that you are blessed to have.
Here's a hint:
If you are:
1- Sharing the same space with someone and they are speaking LISTEN
2- Driving or walking outside PAY ATTENTION
2- Working on a project or at your place of business DO YOUR BEST
4- Spending time with your mate LOOK THEM IN THE EYE AND TELL THEM I LOVE YOU
5- Spending time with your mate and your wish you weren't END IT
6- In church GET THE MESSAGE...PRAY...BE ONE WITH GOD..don't just be there
7- Praying at home...BE ONE WITH GOD AND LISTEN TO THE VOICE THAT RESPONDS
8- Crying and heartbroken THANK GOD FOR THE EXPERIENCE AND PRAY EACH DAY FOR STRENGTH AND COURAGE TO CONTINUE TO REAMIN OPEN TO FIND LOVE
9- Broke and living off of pennies HAVE FAITH AND WORK DILIGENTLY TOWARDS THE GOALS YOU HAVE SET TO ENSURE THIS IS JUST A TEST FOR YOUR TESTIMONY TO COME
10- Breathing and Alive LIVE RIGHT, GIVE LOVE and BE STRONG FOR THOSE WHO ARE WEAK
Life is too precious and goes too quickly for us to sit back and watch it happen without much input from us. It's something that we all have a stake in and we all have to challenge ourselves to stay focused on....Living on purpose!
Have a wonderful weekend and let your spirit guide you to what it craves to become alive!
XOXOXO

Your Journey is leading to....
Today is a new day filled with hope, and all you have is faith that things will work out the way you imagine them to. You woke up with something on your mind and a split between two thoughts of which way you should go or how you should handle the situation. Speak out loud...even if its by yourself...he will hear you. He actually likes to hear you speak to him, for when you speak to him you speak to your spirit as well. You are acknowledging your spirit and the other unforeseen forces that govern your life...our destiny.
When will you stop pretending that all is good and something will just drop out the sky? When did hard work and determination not ever give you huge returns on your investment? A new year is steadily approaching us and that year will soon be gone. Since time never stops for any of us, will you be prepared when your golden moment of opportunity looks you in the face? They say opportunity is when success and preparation meet...what have you done to prepare?
I speak from a space of preparation. I have been sacrificing my blood sweat and tears to achieve the life I want for myself. The life I told myself I would have two years ago and I am finally starting to see it come to fruition, and all because I simply said "I want to do that". The journey has been long, hard, bumpy, leaving me needing an alignment like nobody's business...but it was always attainable.
I have learned that God helps those who help themselves. You can sit there and wish and pray for anything in this world, but you must seek out and do as needed with the strength you have to get it done and it will be.
Congratulations to all the wonderful folk in my life who are putting their God given talents to good use and fulfilling their duty of being a source of hope and a pillar of strength and a role model for inspiration.
Be grateful...Live open hearted.
Have a productive Thursday.
XOXO

Made in the U.S.A.
Look at the tag of anything you are wearing right now...go on..I will give you time. Mine says "Italy" but...point is I guarantee you find something that says "Made in China, Cambodia, Paris, Indonesia"...or made someplace other than here. This is usual and should not surprise you, since we have accepted and realize that..that is just "the way it is".
What may surprise you, and what you may not consciously be aware of, is the fact that even though most of everything you own and wear is foreign made, YOU are not. America has done a fantastic job in designing you and keeping you in line with most of the absurdities that they have created and pretty much trained you to believe.
I came to this conclusion in a discussion yesterday and by simply listening to music. I love music. It is one of my greatest loves. I love the way a singer touches me with their gift, to speak to the inner me and lift me up, transcend moods and allow me to be in a state of temporary bliss. I appreciate talent and I appreciate when someone uses their raw, god given talent towards humanity.
Then it happens. You hear something from what you love, in this case being music, and it just brings you an epiphany. I'm going through my email and I open this new song from Rhianna and it literally butchered my spirit, it rained on my expectations and it made me ask..."Why is she selling millions"? Then I answered my own question...because they told us to like her and so it will be. Who are they? The "suits" that be. The decision makers, the ones who run it all.
Ask yourself this..If you heard one of Rhianna songs one time...and that was it...would you run to hear it again...compared to hearing a real vocalist? I guess if you listen to the radio all day, then you are forced to believe that this song is great and she is fabulous and you love it because they play it every hour on the hour. WHY? because it is part of the program.
There are some of us who have always been smarter than to go for the "okie doke" and co-sign nonsense when it is presented to us (we can date back to Harriet Tubman) but....how many do fall for it? How many of us just go with the program...day in and day out...liking what they tell us to like, listening to what they tell us to listen to, reading the garbage (OK, PEOPLE, etc.) they tell us to read, and the worst one.. WATCHING what they tell us to watch.
Who would have known that Rhianna would provoke such serious thoughts and theories. Here is a young lady who is known as one of the USA's largest singers/pop stars, yet, she clearly cannot sing (I stand firm by that), she cannot dance (which has always been a huge disappointment since she is from Barbados, and I had high hopes for the "Pon de replay" video), and she has no stage presence. She is simply just... the chosen one. If I am wrong...please prove it. I always welcome healthy debate.
I have never even seen her do anything GREAT other than what someone else orchestrated her to do..hence her fashion and style...which I will be the first to say is through the roof. She has also, sung many hit songs that were very well written by others, but still demonstrated no vocal talent. She was chosen to be who she is..and that she has done...and done well.
My point and where I am going with this is....start to PAY ATTENTION to who you are and the things YOU like, not what THEY say is hot, good, or worthy. If you do not know yourself and take time to really get to know you OUTSIDE of the programs that have been running since the day you were born, i.e. Radio, TV, Politics, Bureaucracies, Music, Movies...every single one of these things have a subliminal message to keep you following the program. Eventually, you will just be a product manufactured, as so many of these youth are becoming. They are not being raised by their parents..they are being raised by this society and it's non-sense.
Can you imagine what it would be like for us to not to have had a Ella Fitzgerald, Don Hathaway, Patti La belle, ARETHA, Etta JAMES!, WHITNEY, Marvin..AL Greene..like...real live hard core sing to your bones get sore SINGERS! I can't imagine..but yet, my daughter is growing up in the generation of Rhianna...and this is supposed to be acceptable?
OK ...so bringing this back....
I am in no way saying that every single thing we see and hear is bad, that would be false...but the ratio of what is good to what is over the top is clearly outbalanced and it is your responsibility to know the difference and educate yourself. If not for yourself, then for your children, or future children.
I constantly push myself to read books of my own interest, and that can broaden my insight past what the media constantly chooses to tell me. I push myself to not watch TV all the time, I push myself to have a conversation with my daughter about whatever she wants to talk about, even when its been a looog day. I push myself to listen to other types of music and my own music library instead of the radio. I push myself to engage in stimulating, thought provoking conversations about issues that are prevalent in my world, and my friends and families lives. I push myself. How hard do you push?
If we don't push ourselves then who will? Not all of us are blessed to have a constant coach on us to try to stay consistent and focused. This country makes it HARD to live in sincerity, compassion, and to live authentic. It's a start to simply push yourself.

We are each other's inspiration!
I have never been shy about praising my fellow sisters! No matter what age, race, or place you come from...If I see a beautiful woman I say "Damn, she is HOT"! If I like your ensemble I say "Wow, work it girl"! If I see your talent and you demonstrate it so gracefully and effortlessly I Thank you and I tell you "You are Dope".
I have been blessed to know and have some pretty amazing, creative, talented, strong and gorgeous sisters in my life! We may not all be close as cousins, I may see you once every season, we may talk every full moon..but you know its ALL love and I am sure to tell you every now and then THANK You for being a dynamic contrition to my world as it happens...to Me.
Today I received an email from a young lady I have known since I was 13. She has always been full of life, and has turned out to be an exceptional poet and writer...I give thanks to her for this piece that she emailed me today, because little does she know...it made me smile and found its place to me through its significance.
She has welcomed me to share: ENJOY....
MISS POLAY (Nia Crooks) here's to you....
Black curtains moving about amongst the sills of my bedroom windows
Dark spirits circling about
Again I ask self, what did I dream about?
A new day, a fresh start
Clean sheets of white paper to doodle upon
What's wrecking this brain of mine?
Chest full of emptiness and not a happy heart beat in sight
What's going on in the inner Ms. Crooks today that I pray doesn't lead into tonight
I ran away from yesterday & made it all the way to today
So my past isn't making me feel this way
Something or some things are missing this day
God grab my hand and take this feeling away
The more of "ME" is acting less
What will be the avenue of my next step
My Sgt. Green Eyes asked, what am I gonna do with this life?
I didn't say this, but my answer was to just be his wife
Who is he, I laugh @ self
My purpose lately is just to have a fixed health
The crazy spree I've spirled down surgery after surgery the body of a broken clown
Oh wait, its the trial that's raping my brain
Taking the stand from the taxi hit & to a judge & jury I must explain
Nerves of nervousness is what's clouding my brain
Hoping to have the perfect testimony & try not to appear insane
When a overwhelming feeling strikes I blank brain
Sometimes I forget my very own name
Loving that Dad & Gramps will be by my side
Wait..., in my dream I saw my Holy side
So this is not emptiness I feel or a bad spirit circling my room
Its good energy delivered to me by, you know whom
God you're a silly Goose sometimes
You wreck my brain then make me rewind
Its time to fill up with your good graces
And get ready to experience new places & spaces
So its not nothingness, doubt, hurt, pain or negative I feel
Its the feeling of being healed
The sins that I commit wash away over night
And in the morning God gives me a new chance to fight
Amaya still belly swimming as I smirk my face
Happiness decorating all over the place
See this is why I write so I can fill my tank
With words from the heart and my purity place
The "ME" you may know, maybe so many "ME"'s
But the one thing I can prove is only my God holds my hearts key
He opened it up today and my writers block stepped down
These are the words from a frown turned upside down
@POLAY
Let it resonate....
Love you all.. HAPPY TUESDAY!

What will you be remembered for?
How long do you stay in a position before you realize your time there has gone stale?
For some reason recently, many people have been asking me for "career move advice", obviously there is no surprise that many people have been let go from their jobs, and re-evaluating what to do next, but, what about the fortunate people who have not lost their jobs. The people who are sitting in a position that they have been in for years and they are ready to be promoted but "due to the economy" are afraid to ask for a promotion.
I think this entire "economy" situation has been a mind manipulator. Yes there is no denying that the economy and the money that has been available has been limited...BUT that has nothing to do with what you are worth and what you deserve, and to allow the state of this economy to affect your ability to know and believe that, is inexcuasable for chasing your dreams. Self worth BEATS Net Worth.
There IS money out here and you CAN get some if you are dedicated and committed to allowing your talents (whatever they be)to shine and you sell yourself. You can be the most talented, singer, writer, dancer, stylist, administrator, etc. whatever it is at the end of the day, you have to make someone believe that you are too. You cannot have all this talent and not market it for yourself and then get madd when opportunities do not come your way. There isn't anyone who is capable of helping you, just sitting at home, thinking about you. You have to make yourself visible, noticeable and go for what you want vigorously.
Now if you are reading this and you don't know if it applies to you then ask yourself this...
1- Have you been doing the same exact thing for more than 2 years with no salary increase or promotion?
2- Do you HATE going in to your job everyday, and know EXACTLY what you want to do, and it isn't your current job?
3- Is there any positions at your job that you want and know you are the best fit for but have not applied for it out of FEAR?
If you can say YES to any of these three questions, then you need to stop making excuses for living in a mediocre, non-ambitious space and go after what you want.
There is no excuse!!!!
One of America's Original Successful Authors, Robert Collier once said "Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out."
Read that quote and think about what you do DAY IN AND DAY OUT.
P.S. I am sitting here watching all this coverage on Ted Kennedy and his life.
It is sad that he has passed on but I see a man who came to this world, served his purpose and left his mark.
He will always be remembered for what he created for himself while he was here. He made an impact...and it is just more affirmation for me that this is our only mission.
What will you be remembered for?
Have a productive Thursday & a safe Weekend!!!
THANKS!!!!

Our work is really NEVER finished...
So I am drinking a cup of tea a couple days ago in a cafe waiting on my friend, and I happen to strike up a conversation with this much older guy, who reminded me of Pierce Bronson, Distinguished, strikingly handsome and looked like MONEY. :)
He was sitting at a table across from me and every time I looked up, so did he. He nods his head up at me and throws a finger up to ask , "May I join you"? I shrug my shoulders..."Why not"?
Before I go on, let me just say... I am not one to randomly "pick up guys" nor was my intention to have this man sit with me so that we can maybe "hook up". I love talking to people and usually will invite anyone into a conversation, especially strangers, so I can quiz them on any and everything. In addition he was all Gray, but very hot, but I still knew that there would be nothing between us. OK....
So....he sits across from me, he smells like the sea....crisp, fresh, clean, magnificent. He is donning a black blazer, white sharp collar button up underneath, that is opened just a bit to see his salt n pepper chest hairs (he has that south beach Italian look going on) and he has on white loose fitted denims with some Ralph Lauren loafers. I was very impressed by his smooth ensemble and relaxed attire that he made look so easy. He wore a very nice watch. Of course I did not stare, but it was the biggest face watch I ever seen and it looked like it was just taken out of the Cartier factory and placed on his wrist. To sum it up he was pretty dope.
He sits and says in his French accent "Forgive me Darling, I love Fine Chocolate". Now this almost made me LOL....because I was not expecting this man to say something like that...but then again...this was getting good and I was intrigued. I am usually the one to say something to make the other party blush or feel "surprised" by my verbiage. "Excuse me, SIR". He leans in, "My name is Jorge, I am in town visiting from Epernay, (which I learn from him is a town in France where some of the most prestigious wine vineyards are produced) I distribute Champagne through North America, so I am here several times a year...I was admiring you from across the table, heard you speaking to someone on your phone very aggressively and thought I would come over to try to figure you out, not to mention I think you are a very attractive woman".
So we talk.
Of course I go on to say thank you, and ask him a million questions about the process of distributing champagne, how its made, how I can get down..lol. He answers and he is very respectful.
To sum it up, Jorge is 56 years old, has made enough money in his life to take over 7 continents and support every child in it, he has 2 daughters, who you can imagine are some of the luckiest little girls in the world. We talk and talk and he tells me his life in 35 minutes. He stresses how he had no intention on "trying" anything with me, but just wanted to converse with an interesting person. I told him how much I appreciated speaking and learning about a culture that is so unfamiliar to me, and how one day when I come to France, I will look him up. (winks)
I ask him, what was he doing here now, in NYC? He said he was meeting with a group of people who would be accompanying him on a trip to Lesotho, which is a country in Africa. They would be aiding and helping to assist a project to try to help stabilize the agriculture there for people to have food in that area.
Jorge went on to tell me about how much money he has made in his lifetime, to the point he makes it without doing anything at all. While he sleeps money is being made. When he made his first million at 28, he was a crazed young man. He had done it all, and traveled the globe more times than he can count, and what he realized, is that none of it matters. None of it matters when you walk into a village across the globe and see that the inhabitants there cant even get a drink of water. They can not look forward to dinner, when they do not know where it will come from. They can not look their children in the face and promise them anything because they are living in scarcity at all times.
He tells me, you come to a point in your life when you realize, all I am supposed to do is to help the next person live a little bit easier. I have attained great things, but what does it mean if I cannot share it and help to lift up my fellow human being. We are all just that....fellow humans first before race, gender, or religion.
Of course Jorge, said so much more to me that late afternoon. His party finally arrived and was beeping for him outside the cafe. He goes into his pocket and leaves a $50 bill on my table "Your tea is on me" (my tea was $2), he took my hand and rolled my name off his tongue in the sexiest, romantic french accent I have ever heard "Deandra, it has been my pleasure, I see your light..keep it up, until we meet again.." He kissed my hand, and just like that he was gone.
I of course, for the first time, had no words, not because of his aurora, and demeanor, but what he had to say to me moved me and it taught me so much. This man with his long money, and luxurious life, does not have to do a thing with all he has, but he is still busting his chops to help people in Africa try to eat.
What am I doing?
At that moment I sort of felt small in the scheme of things, but then I realized how BIG his impact would have on me, and I too, would pay his message forward.
Our work is really never done. We should always be grinding trying to make our contribution to the world last and count.
Where is Jorge? I don't know, but I am sure he is touching someones heart, as he did mine.
Enjoy your weekends! Live in LOVE, and be a force among many!
XOXOXOXO

Take a Moment to....
I have a confession.....I LOVE LOVE LOVE my LIFE! How do you feel about yours?? Like don't get me wrong, we all have our days where we would much rather sit under a cave in Scandinavia, eating a bowl of granola for dinner, than be in the situations, circumstances and drama we can get into on the day to day. BUT, when the sun sets and the smoke clears....I would not trade in the life I have built for myself for NOTHING!
I love it! I love my spirit because it is sooo strong, and I don't let anything BREAK it! I love my insight, because it is so clear, I love my friends...they make me SMILE more than Frown, and they are soo good to me! I love my Family, Blood and distant because their actions constantly show me how much I mean to them. I love being a mother, and watching my daughter look at the Mickey Mouse Club in the mornings and she is trying to do the "HOT DOG" dance that Minnie does when she thinks I am not watching. I love eating my food that I work so hard to make and to watch my family enjoy it. I love that when something that appears to be "bad" or "unfortunate" happens that I never see it as that, and I am just always ready to move on to what I need to do next!
I am in love with GOD! I know that he has such a huge plan for my life and he shows me that EVERY SINGLE DAY in the connections I make, the opportunities I am allotted, and the moments that I see. My heart is soo full and I wanted to pass it forward to anyone reading this right now.
YOU are no different from me. You should feel no different that me! You are of the same greatness and you should never feel "small" in this world for we all make it what it is TOGETHER! I love you and I want you to give thanks for everything that makes your life work! Speak it outloud and be an example always!
Have a groundbreaking weekend!!! Celebrate and do something to make someone smile.
Love you all!

Baltic Avenue my a**!
How long can you stay in the same spot without getting antsy, bored, tired, restless and aggravated? Even when you go to the post office and see a long line you start to suck your teeth and want to about face because you just cannot bare to stand in line and do NOTHING. Well how come when we are standing in the same spot when it comes to relationships, careers and lifestyle are we willing to STAND STILL with ease?
I realize that I have been a victim of this as many of you probably are. I wont go into detail and specify what area I notice this in but it has put me in that state and I am sooo liberated because I am free to stop standing still and waiting. I am setting my standards and requirements for the various positions in my life and if they are not meeting that then they will fall by the waste side.
Anyone who knows me know I am very ambitious, always have a plan and rarely unhappy based on where I am in my life. I recently had to re-assess certain areas that I thought WERE on point, and realize actually they were not at the levels they could be. Have you done this?
Have you thought that the place you are in with something in your life was great, on point, going well, and then you expose yourself to something outside of you and realize that really your stuff is not as great as you thought. Many professionals do this within their careers, even when they are happy to just see "what else is out there, and what else can I get" when they are in dead end jobs. (Take that figuratively if you like :) ).
The point I am making is everything and I mean EVERYTHING in my world has to add up for me right now. From the people who I give my attention to, the food that I eat, the activities that I take part in, the job that I do, the relationships I foster they have to be = to "Broadway on the monopoly board", not Baltic bum a** avenue! ..Thanks Steve Harvey!
I would like to thank the young ladies whom I spoke to last night for their time and energy and Ms. Saulters I appreciate you! :)
We must start upholding our word, commitment, and dedication to the external forces out side of us. When we stick to the plan and go by our standards we realize that our dreams become reality faster than we think! We have to have a map for ourselves for our lives just as we use maps for anything else. That way if we fall off track we can get right back on.
I cannot offer conversation or any type of energy no longer to those who are not about SOMETHING. Can you hold my focus and attention, should it be granted, because you are taking time away from what I am trying to do for me and mines. If we have a conversation can we build on something that is going to take me a step higher, elevate my level of thinking and inspire me to be more than what I am?
And for my ladies..If he checking for you and wants to get to know you better is he coming correct...is he showing you that he will be a good husband ...can you see yourself having kids with this man? Would you introduce him to your family, or you rather hide him because he don't offer much but a fine physical shell.
Everything we do are deposits in the bank of life. Many of us are not reaping any returns because the deposits that are made are so small they don't add up to nothing...Live BIG..Deposit BIG...BE BIG and leave the small fries behind.
There is ALWAYS something better waiting when you think what you have is it. Jump out on a limb and just explore. Your fear of not giving the next opportunity a chance is what keeps you stagnant!
Enjoy your weekends!!!
XOXOXO

Michelle...
As she stood there a pretty brown with her determined gaze, words cannot describe the sensation I felt when I watched Michelle Obama, address a powerful room full of congress and the world Monday night. Her words were heard by MILLIONS that night, and regardless of how you feel about her and "Obama". You must admit that what she did was historical and well versed!
I am proud of the accomplishment that was made that night, for herself, her family, her man and for me! She speaks to me, she speaks to you and every other person who walks the grounds of this country in the hopes that her husband will set the foundation for the way this country should be.
What took me more than anything about Michelle was not so much that she stood there looking impeccable, with her perfect arched brows, bouncy shiny bob and her form fitting mint-ish green dress. She was standing there painting a flawless centerpiece of the man in her life. The man she has chosen to be her life partner, the man who has fathered her children. She stood there for almost 45 minutes going on about the character, strength, poise and potential of the man who she loves. WHO GETS TO DO THAT AND HAVE THE WORLD LISTENING!!!! YOU GO GIRL!!!!!
Obama you have done well, and it was definitely worth the persistence to reel in Miss Michelle Robinson, she has taken your last name and added even more light to it. That is the dream of every man. Every man wants a woman who can make him feel like cashmere even when he is having a polyester kinda of day! To praise him and make him feel like one of the most important creatures to set foot on the earth. To pick him up and raise him to the world to see him and his efforts in the best possible light! She has done that for Barack, in the way I have never seen another woman do, and she did it while she had the entire world's attention.
KUDOS and a job well done Mrs. Michelle Obama! I took an extreme amount of respect, courage and hope from your words and I have made a commitment to myself to reach to achieve such greatness.
Prepare yourself for a new beginning. It is approaching, many will rebel against it as we will see, some we have seen in the past weeks (assassination threats, crude and hate comments and van dilation) BUT we will still stand strong and OBAMA will still persevere.
My daddy would always tell me growing up "Dee don't follow the crowd, if you don't stand for something you will fall victim to anything" Well, Obama is standing tall and he will not run, he won't cop out and he will take this feat on even if it threatens his life. He believes in who he is and he knows his purpose. If we all had that same "Get it done or Die trying" mentality what would be different about the direction of your life?
LOVE!!!!!!!

Passion
I first want to start by saying SORRY!
Friday marked the 1st day that I sent my blog out for the world to view, and to my surprise I had so many typos in the first sentences. JUST HORRIBLE!
That is a prime example of passion in action. When you have something you are sooo passionate about it just flows out so natural, so fast and with such enthusiasm that even when you think you have proofread it ...you still missed something.
Moving forward this should not be an issue, at least to the extreme it was.
Hope everyone is feeling fine, feeling light and looking forward to this cool breeze that we have been getting the past couple of days.
On another note, the weekend delivered some upsetting and unexpected news to us. Black Hollywood lost some strong, talented respectable entertainers. Bernie Mac and Isaac Hayes. Both were extremely talented and in my opinion possessed a uniqueness that is hard to find amongst the rising stars of today.
Life is short and of course it was very upsetting to hear the news, but all I could think of when I heard about it was "Damn, a short life lived but so much accomplished". These two men have left this earth physically but during their time here they fulfilled their mission, their purpose in ADDING on to the world in some way and sharing that gift with us all.
I think we all forget that we must try to do that. We must ADD on and if we are blessed enough to do it, then do it well, and do it with integrity.
CNN spoke with friend Bernie Mac friend Steve Harvey (one of the original Kings of Comedy, alongside Bernie) Steve said "He was a great father and a fantastic family man", so not only did he live a life that exuberated his craft and talent as a hysterical comedian, but he upheld his family and was respected by his peers for that. Issac Hayes just had a baby 2 years ago and we can say the same for him.
These were stand up men, and I am thankful for their sharing their gifts and talents with us. We don't have to know people personally to be inspired, touched and moved by the work they do in this world while they are here. I know they are looking down and appreciating the fact they left their mark. They can say "job well done" .
So many of us don't get the chance to do that, so with that being said..Live every moment as if you are making your portfolio for when you are gone. Grab life by the Horns and ride the hell out of it, and do it with your head high and a smile on your face. Give thanks ...YOU ARE HERE one more day to see your children, your mother, your loved one, kiss someone on the cheek, give a hug and dress to the tee's!
LOVE.

LOVE.
